Transrail’s Design Engineering vertical executes the designing and testing of T&D lattice and monopole structures. Our talented team of design engineers carries out various activities, such as tower spotting, structure designing, review of geotechnical soil investigation etc. for transmission lines, substations and lighting solutions. We have a well-equipped design facility and required competency to design towers compliant to international standards. Transrail has successfully designed and tested towers for various climate and geographic conditions, including hilly terrains, swamps, urban lands, villages etc.

Tower Testing

Transrail has an in-house state-of-the art-facility that uses SCADA software technology. This facility is equipped to test all types of towers including – Self supporting, guyed types, monopoles etc. The testing station of our R&D centre is NABL accredited. It can test 2 towers simultaneously.

Lattice Towers

Transrail has an in-house tower manufacturing facility that features advanced equipment and machines for a seamless production and provides end-to-end services for our transmission line business. With large storage capacity, gantry cranes, CNC machines and full-fledged facilities. SAP/QSM controls and monitors the entire process from production to despatch, while the quality testing is executed in our on-site laboratory. Transrail is a CE certified company and owns one of the largest galvanising shops in the industry.

Conductors

Transrail has set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant at Silvassa to integrate the manufacturing process of aluminium and aluminium alloy conductors. This facility has a manufacturing capacity of 60,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA). We have also established internal processes to meet the requirements of global players in terms of testing and quality requirements. Our product portfolio includes EC Grade Aluminium Wire Rods, AAC (All Aluminium Conductor), ACSR (Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced), ACAR (Aluminium Conductor Aluminium Alloy Reinforced) etc. We have supplied more than 1,50,000 km of conductors across the country and the globe.

Monopoles

Transrail is one of the few players in India to have executed a transmission line of monopoles on EPC basis. We have the most advanced facility at Silvassa that features world-class equipment, including a CNC plasma-cutting machine and submerged arc-welding machine, for improved quality, productivity, and accuracy. Transrail is a pan-India player and supplies distribution poles across the country. We also have a significant presence in the Middle East and Africa.

Transmission Lines

Transrail possesses a competent construction team that can execute transmission projects under any temperature or terrains. We are one of the few players in India to have constructed 1200 kV voltage level transmission lines. As per recent statistics, Transrail has executed a total of 33,500 circuit km transmission lines.

We provide EPC services in relation to substations up to 765 kilovolts (“kV”). We also provide EPC services in relation to air insulated and gas insulated substations. Our Company has built substations of up to 400kV.

We have designed, engineered, procured and constructed 33,500 CKM transmission lines and 30,000 CKM distribution lines, respectively, both domestically and internationally. Our Company operates as EPC service providers and as a supplier of engineered products in the power transmission and distribution segment.
